What are the challenges before the Indian telecom industry as it moves forward?

Posted on December 30th, 2009 by admin in telecom industry | 2 Comments »

Not many. IBM laid down enough cable for ample growth. I’d say the the biggest challenges are a lack of decent infrastructure and the fact that half of the people in the country don’t have water or food.

why dont telecom etc just say no to government spy tactics?

in fact, why dont we all say " no more " to this useless government.
i dont see any incandescent rage .
hal ill agree to differ with you and can only say im pleased to have never met you.

Well it’s about time people in Britain woken up to the Lib/Lab/Con Stasi Marxism that has existed for years and years now. As long as people keep voting for this liberal elitism. nothing will ever change here in the UK. The telecoms companies are run by the same elite lot unfortunately and they all owe favours to the govt, and even if they did say NO to the govt, they would be threatened with losing their operators licence.

What are we going to do about it? Oh, we’ll just keep voting for them and and using the services all the same.

Any one with business plans?

Posted on December 30th, 2009 by admin in telecom infrastructure | 2 Comments »

hi guys/ girls.
i have a flair for setting up a business, but am unsure of what to do for a startup! i am keen for a software setup else something to do with telecom / infrastructure. I am a bachelors in engineering degree holder & my shortfalls are not having an MBA – thats what i perceive. If you have ideas or are interested in similar concepts – guide me.

You will also find a great deal of information from the Small Business Administration
http://www.sba.gov

While they give you plenty of advice and free tools, you will have to do all the work. I highly suggest you hire a business plan writer to do the research, projected financial information, market analysis, executive summary and the overall writing of a detailed business plan.

I have the misfortune to have joined Tiscali. Does anybody know of a worse Broadband/Telecom provider ?

Posted on December 30th, 2009 by admin in telecom providers | 6 Comments »

Rubbish in all areas particularly Technical Support and Customer Service. Last week I was promiced they would ring back in 24 hours 168 hours later I’m still waiting despite having complained by email on more than one occasion !

well, talk talk have kept on promising me they’ll give me a connection but i gave up after they couldn’t get me ANY internet after a 6 months wait!
They promised they’ll phone me back umpteen times, they promised the broadband would come on at "6 tomorrow" about ten times… in the end I just refused to believe them, I am usually a trustful person but now I simply won’t trust anyone from India, bunch of no good liers, the lot of them.

Tiscali worked out ok when I was with them, but I’d like to mention PIPEX for ripping me off 60 quid. I had made sure I was going for someone that didn’t have a yearly contract as I knew I had to move out within 6 months and their trick was that you don’t have a yearly contract, only a monthly one BUT you couldn’t leave them before a year is over. How bad does it get????
Now they changed the website to make it seem less obvious but the old one is still cached at archive.org for all to see.

Anyway, if you are looking to change, this was useful

best telecom and internet service provider in Bangkok Thailand?

Posted on December 30th, 2009 by admin in telecom provider | 2 Comments »

Was going to spend some time in Bangkok. So just wanted to know which mobile phone service provider and dsl internet service provider I should get when i get there. Thanks.
PS: Would appreciate if url to the recommended company’s webpage were also included.

Advanced Info Services (AIS) is Thailand’s largest mobile phone service provider and works very well in Bangkok, their 1 2 Call prepaid service is a good way to go if you don’t want to sign any contracts. They have many different plans, so it’s good to ask about them before you buy a sim card. Dtac is the #2 provider and also is good, both providers offer good discounts within their networks which may influence your decision as to which company to use. TOT and True are the biggest ISP’s, and are also the two largest wired phone services in Bangkok. You often have to use an ISP depending on who supplies your phone service, I have a TOT phone line and True Internet services are not available to me, only TOT. That’s not always the case, you have to check depending on where you live. My broadband TOT service (1 MB) is just okay with occasional drops and is sometimes hard to connect, I know some True users that are very happy and some that aren’t.
