Why should the telecom company lose their customers ? Portability means Govt to private ?

Posted on March 4th, 2011 by admin in telecom | 2 Comments »

Once you get a new sim card from your new operator, you send a request to your current operator to cancel the registration with them. They promptly cancel the number in your name and allot the same number to some one else. You lose your number for ever. Sounds smart ? Why any telecom company will lose their customers ?

It does not make any difference for them. They have much wider base and also diverse sources of income.

What is good salary for expat telecom Engineer in thailand.?

Posted on February 14th, 2011 by admin in telecom | 3 Comments »

I got a job opportunity in Thailand. I’m a Telecom Engineer working in mobile industry.
A similar position in the united states wages around 6500$ monthly.
Since I have no idea about taxes and live expenses in Thailand what would be a good number to ask as my wanted salary if I accept the offer ? My family is 4 persons including myself.

It depends who is doing the hiring.

If you are send overseas by a US company, you can and should demand a lot more. Your kids have to go to (an international) school, and that is very expensive over here. Plus health package, plus compensation for not being in the company stateside. (Doing a term overseas puts you ‘out of the loop’ and doesn’t help your career.)

If you are hired by a Thai company, Bt. 195.000 ($6500) is something you can easily forget. Unless you want to give them a good laugh or you have (very) special skills that cannot be found in Thailand.

What is the charge on our cell phone bill from Telecom?

Posted on February 1st, 2011 by admin in telecom | 1 Comment »

charged for services on our cell phone bill only listed as Telecom for $9.99 each. What and who are they? How can we find out what we did that we got these charges?

Call your cell company. This could be "cramming", where companies put things on your bill that you didn’t order.

Why can’t I make any calls to numbers of another mobile telecom provider?

Posted on January 10th, 2011 by admin in telecom | 1 Comment »

My mobile phone network is say ‘A’
I can’t seem to call a single mobile phone that belongs to mobile phone network ‘B’
I can call landlines and other mobile networks.

Can a mobile network (or someone from inside the company) block calls to its network, from a specific number that belongs to another mobile telecom network?

Can I use a Telecom XT sim card in a Vodafone/2 Degrees cellphone?

Posted on November 14th, 2010 by admin in telecom | 1 Comment »

First of all I am from New Zealand if that helps in relation to the cellphone networks.

I am looking to buy a new phone online and the seller says the phone will work on both Vodafone and 2 Degrees networks but they are not sure if it will work on Telecom. If I put a Telecom XT sim card into this phone would it work? Or is it different to the other networks?
The cellphone will either be a Nokia 7370 or Nokia 7373.

depends on the model of the phone

What is the pay rate with Axis Telecom for a possible employee?

Posted on October 27th, 2010 by admin in telecom | 1 Comment »

I am thinking about working for Axis Telecom, do they have a fix rate or do they work on commission.

They do both. £11.700 basic and a minimal comission on sales.

They expect 2 sales a day, though so it is quite a tough one.

How can experience of telecom industry prove beneficial and finally leading to a job in software industry?

Posted on October 24th, 2010 by admin in telecom | 1 Comment »

I am currently working in telecom industry as an Operation & maintenance engineer but strongly wishes to join software industry. Is this possible? or i have to join as a fresher in software? Which software companies requires experience of software?

AS U R O AND M ENGINEER BUT SOFTWARE INDUSTRY ALWAYS RECOGNIZE U AS FRESHER,THEY GIVE U TRAINING ,IF U GAIN FAST IN TRAINING U WILL BECOME EXPERT IN SHORT TIME.

NOW A DAYS SOFTWARE COMPANIES REQUIRE {MORE} SOFTWARE DEBBUGGER OR TESTERS THAN SOFTWARE DEVELOPER.

ALL BIG COMPANIES LIKE MICROSOFT REQIRE UR PROGRAMMING SKILLS IN JAVA{ADVANCE} NOT EXPERIENCE OF SOFTWARES
