which telecom provider is d best in india?
For land line connections BSNL or MTNL is the best.
For cellular connections, it depends on the city/state where you live or work. Pan India operators like Airtel, Tata Docomo, Idea, Vodafone, Reliance are good. So decide yourself after checking with your friends who use different service providers.

Do you have to purchase a new modem when your Wireless provider ups the speed?
When a Wireless Telecom Provider e.g. T-Mobile upgrades to a higher speed protocol e.g. HSDPA+ from HSDPA, do you have to get a new modem or is it the case where a firmware update will be issued by the telecoms provider so that the user can download it and upgrade to the new speed, as is the case with ADSL, Cable modems and Fiber Optic services?
The modem supplied is fine. You can only receive at the speed that your provider supplies and the hardware allows. Ask your provider if the current modem you have can receive the improved speeds.
Wouldn’t Telecom be a hell of a lot cheaper if 3G was standardised on every phone. That would make texts free!?
I mean: if we all payed a monthly internet, fee the greedy Telecom providers couldn’t charge us for texts and calls in the same way. Text’s are outrageously expensive and they only fit around 160 symbols. This is becoming more of a problem as full keyboards on phones become more and more popular. It’s a really outdated system. What do you think?
If you don’t think that around 160 symbols are enough, then get a phone that has more. Many do. But their plans are more expensive.
See, for example, http://www.unicode.org/mail-arch/unicode-ml/y2010-m11/0147.html .
I am not aware that text is “free” anywhere. But some plans now offer unlimited texting. 3G will eventually be the norm. Some phones already use 4G.
You may have to be prepared to talk to a number of people at your phone company until you find one who actually knows what he can offer you beyond the norm. See, for example, http://iphonenews.ca/index.php/2008/rogers-wireless/unlimited-text-messaging-with-rogers/ .
Can you use a Telecom modem if i’m on a different internet provider?
It is the wireless modem they are offering for free
You didn’t give much information in that question. What is Telecom? It’s an abbreviated word for telecommunications. It could also be a company.
Giving the make and model # of the modem might be of help. Giving the type of service Telecom intended it for might be of help.
DSL modems are pretty generic as are cable modems – most of them follow the prevailing standards. Wireless Network providers might not be so easy as they could be on licensed or unlicensed (such as WiFi) bands providing Internet Service.
How should I invest for the coming zombie holocaust?
I figure Walmart (WMT) will transform itself from the largest retailer into the largest provider of food and lodging, but I’m not sure that their post-apocalypse cash flows will justify their current market capitalization.
Telecom providers might also provide substantial value in the zombie era, if they can maintain their infrastructure anyway.
Are there any good growth opportunities out there? Some small company that has the potential to become a prime mover once all we know and love is lost to the undead?
From what I understand Umbrella Corp. is privately held…
I set up my portfolio to heavily weighing ammo companies and machete manufacturers. However, I like your idea about Walmart. Remember, they sell more firearms than anyone else, which could justify their high P/E ratio.
Also, you may want to look at Clorox. Demand for bleach will skyrocket as people try to prevent infection.
is there any way to improve reception quality without changing LNB?

I have a Hosted PBX by a Telecom Provider, I need another Phone. Do I have to use the provider’s phone?
Hello,
I use a Hosted PBX system in my office. We already contract 3 phones from them and each phone has their own phone number. I need to add another phone, is it possible for me to buy from someone else and connect it to the PBS system provided by the provider?
I didn’t realize that there were cheaper alternatives out there and unfortunately I have one more year left in our contract.
Thank you.
it would depend on how they have the PBX set up…
a service like http://phonebooth.com will allow you to have any phone in your IVR tree, even a cell phone…. and their prices for VoIP service are pretty cheap too.. i believe that they are $25 per location..
