Tellink Racing Challenge
On Sunday 30th of may 2010 Tellink, a young and dynamic Telecom provider based in Antwerp Belgium, organised a speed race in the genre of those organised by “Top Gear”. A 1 kilometer race between a Audi R8, a Ducati 1098 Troy Bayliss, a Inshore F1 powerboat and a R 44 helicopter. The pilots were Pop Diva “Natalia”, Guinnes World Record holder Micha Robyn, F1 Powerboat champion Jules Leysen and multiple Guinnes and world record holder Marc Sluszny.

SWANsat Telecommunications – Shareware Telecomms (2/4)
Super-Wide Area Network Satellite (SWANsat) is a Satellite_constellation of at least 3 Geosynchronous_orbiting high powered satellites. It is planned to launch around 2011. Effectively, it will be a global Internet Service Provider. An increase in potential worldwide wireless broadband internet capacity of around 600 million connections per satellite, using just a handheld mobile device to connect to the system.
Corporate Capability: Those involved in the SWANsat project include the inventors, builders and owners of GPS and Iridium; a retired Chief of Staff, four-star Army General; a former CEO of Western Digital; satellite architects involved in the Teledesic project as well as Sandia Laboratories.
Shareware Telecommunications Model: SWANsat has published an economic model that could provide developing country residents access to the SWANsat Satellite service for as little as $1 per month. It is hailed as an effective way to bridge the Global_digital_divide.
Specifically, the Shareware model states that after meeting a modest business model target of full paying subscribers in richer countries, it will start to offer the SWANsat service to underserved and unserved countries. One additional full paying subscriber will release 40 shareware accounts & possibly handsets. For example, 10 million full subscriptions will release 400 million shareware accounts.

Neville Omondi, VoicesofAfrica mobile reporter in Nairobi, Kenya – Banking in Kenya is no longer a challenge to the ordinary Kenyan thanks to the booming of mobile banking.
The previously tedious application process that largely depended on the financial status of the applier is ending. The mobile banking service allows people to deposit and withdraw money using their mobile handset.
Also, they can send and receive money instantly. The money received can be withdrawn at any place and any time in over 5,000 agents countrywide at a small fee. Known as M-pesa, the service is offered by local telecom provider Safaricon.
In addition, the user can also withdraw their money in other banks ATMs. When making deposits there is no money deduction and your deposit does not have deadlines.
With over 8 million mobile subscribers in Kenya, mobile banking is expected to become more and more popular. More is still to come as the service is said to be working on an international version.
