Does anyone care about the telephone surveillance bill Bush signed today?
It is no surprise to me that it became a law- those telecom companies wants to cover their behinds

I believe Obama voted for it and McCain wasnt present
Nope, because it only concerns those calling overseas. Doesn’t bother me one little bit, I don’t know anyone that lives outside of the USA.

It really ticks me off. That is the type of "change" you should expect from Obama.

I’m not worried about it.

why would we be surprised? This just extends the elapsed time of wire tapping, it’s not the creation of it

McCain obviously didn’t care enough about it to even show up for the Senate vote.

Beware of your goverenment, it’s getting more like Nazi Germany every day, and we’re letting it happen.
Remember who voted for this crap, and next election vote for someone else.
Notice for those that don;t care because "it only affects overseas calls" or " I have nothing to hide", this like all rules and government practices, is just the foot in the door, and since they will get away with this action, there will be more to follow, and then you just might care when it’s you they’re after.

I support the bill. It is to the best interest of everyone. Surveillance and privacy are two sides of a coin. I rather spare my privacy in order to be safe; moreover I am a law-abiding person and I dont have to worry if someone is listening to my conversations. The world has become too threatening and unsafe with the terrorist threats. I rather be safe than to be sorry.

Yes. I have some telecom stocks in my 401k. Us retirees deserve some protection from the sue happy lawyers.
