british telecom HIJACKED.. (took over) my fone and internet line from my provider without my concent!!…..?

… in any shape or form, e.g. verbal, written, or via debit.. bassically i am with talk talk and we enquired about bt broadband through there fone and they said they are having troubles with there computers, they will ring us back.. and bassically they didnt ring back and suddenly we where getting letters saying "thanks for choosing bt etc.."

we foned to cancel ABOUT 3 TIMES and the home hub still came along with there fone line and broadband!, i had to install the hub to get our internet working, obviously* so bassically i am with bt now without even choosing them or giviing them my CARD DETAILS TO TAKE OUT MONEY! so aparantly we are paying using a quarterly paper based billign service which i assume we will get a bill through the post in 4 months or so…

NOW:

what can i do about this? because my current provider is cheaper than them in everyway and i was recently with a contract which talktalk DONT DO ANYMORE.. so we cant get the same good deal again if i go back to talktalk.. "WHO I AM SUPPOSED TO BE WITH"

SO BASSICALLY: what legal action can i take? or do you suggest i speak to bt’s manager and get the same price deal that i had with talktalk, since they literally HIJACKED my fone and internet line and my rights and not to mention it was all there fault and without my concent*

any ideas guys!?, thanks in advance

You have to write letters to the appropriate people at BT (look it up on their web site) .. having ‘exhausted’ their compliant process, you can go to the Regulator (OFTEL or whatever).

NB. you should NEVER phone any ‘utility’ provider just to make ‘inquiries’ …
… and NEVER EVER give out information (such as you Bank details) on the phone).

Sales staff get paid commission … some are happy to cheat and lie just to collect a bigger pay packet .. of course they will eventually get found out and fired, however that can take months ..
