One a telecom caller calls to try and sell this extremly off british guy a radio the guy goes nuts and gets ridiculously angry at the telecom calller. This was not scripted and was recored only as a random choice, for ‘evaluation’ purposes.

to avoid all phone calls from sales you need to be telephone preference service (tps) if you say to a sales person you are on this as soon as they call, the HAVE to hang up or they are in trouble if their boss is recording that call

If I remember …
If I remember rightly, BT are within their rights to call customers for marketing purposes. It sucks but if BT phoned me trying to sell me something I’d probably go nuts at them too.

Yeah, the dickhead from British Telecom. I totally agree. The reason for being ex directory (number not published for public use) is so that the customer is in total control over who has the phone number and can call you. That includes sales calls from anyone INCLUDING THE PEOPLE YOU PAY FOR THE PHONE LINE.
